Demerara Sugar

Demerara sugar is coarse-textured, light brown sugar and can only be produced from raw sugarcane. Demerara sugar is a type of unrefined sugar with a large grain and a pale amber to golden yellow colour. A coarse crystalline sugar with an amber appearance and mellow flavour. It has a subtle molasses flavour and large, crunchy grains that don’t dissolve easily. The Demerara sugar crystals are larger and coarser than granulated white sugar.

Demerara Cane Sugar has a natural golden brown hue and low moisture. It has no added colouring, flavourings or coatings.

Highly versatile with many applications across foods and beverages, demerara sugar adds unique texture, flavour and colour.

Ideal for a wide range of purposes, from sweetening cereal to adding texture to cookies, cakes, and desserts, its versatility also means it can be used as a topping or an addition to hot drinks and cocktails. It boasts a unique rich flavour with toffee undertones and aroma, making it the perfect choice for baking and can be used in place of brown sugar.
